Situated in Yoxall, a busy little village on the banks of the River Swarbourn in the heart of Staffordshire and within The National Forest, the area offers a wonderful array of amenities and a selection of charming walks. Just 9 miles from Burton upon Trent you can enjoy a fascinating day discovering the art of brewing beer, whilst the National Memorial Arboretum is just 6 miles away and definitely worth a visit. Also, a short drive away you will find the lovely market towns of Lichfield and Ashbourne. Lichfield retains its original character with a beautiful cathedral, Samuel Johnson’s home, a centre dedicated to Erasmus Darwin, St Mary’s Centre, where the Staffordshire Millennium Tapestries are on permanent display, and wonderful places to stop and enjoy some food. The market town of Ashbourne is worth visiting, rich with its original cobbled lanes, old market stalls and grand Georgian buildings which are home to a good selection of restaurants, interesting shops and traditional coaching inns.

The National Trust’s Dovedale Valley is a wonderful place to visit being a renowned beauty spot and can be found within a pleasant drive, offering excellent walking and cycling opportunities amongst spectacular scenery. A short drive away you will discover Tamworth Castle, the ancient capital of Mercia. Take time out to visit one of the local historic estates including Chatsworth House, Shugborough Hall, Kedleston Hall and the nearby Sudbury Hall.
