Satriya Cottages Reviews
Reviewer Type: Family With Children
Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Very close to Kuta main beach
Negative: Pool was mostly crowded by what I would describe as bogan loud group and tattooed to the "hilt". Area outside Restaurant is filthy. Sewage removal tanker came to suck out sewage from an underground sewage storing tank and the collection point in the ground is right in front of the reception and restaurant and it stank to high heaven. Our room (I think it was 321) was at the end of a long straight staircase. The room was okay but the bathroom was very depressing with a worn and dirty green mottled bath that I would not use even if I am paid to use it. There is also very limited fighting in the bathroom dark and depressing We springled Dettol mix on the shower floor and showered with our jandals on. We stayed for 5 days but regretted not moving sooner but having already paid in advance and getting another place on short notice was not easy. Will never stay there again. This was part of a 7 week trip and the only one that we have rated under 8. Luckily we only stayed there for 5 out of our 45 days in Bali and Lembong.
Summary: Will not stay here again

Positive:
Central position, close to local shops and the beach. Loved the pool. Great to receive bottled water each day. Breakfast catered to food allergies.
Negative:
A little disappointed that we tried to support the Cottages and use their travel man. Not only did I pay $1500,000 for the Mt Batur trek, that others paid $600,000 for, and additional $AUD50 for transport as a solo traveller...the 'private' car driver didn't have wifi on his phone that worked. I had to use my phone for directions to and from the departure point for the Mt Batur trek.
The private car booked to go to Padang bai - was an old bus with no air con. The return trip, again a solo trip, the Padangbai representative insisted I use another private car to return to Denpasar. The price for something that I had already paid for was then raised another $800,000. As a woman travelling solo, I felt extremely targeted.
Summary: Great place, just be wary of local tours.

The buffet breakfast was good.
The staff is nice and ready to help.
Negative:
The standard room, although livable, was dated, worn out, dirty and filthy, like the whole property.
Summary: Decent but worn out

Nice quiet part of the hotel, housekeeping was maintained perfectly breakfast options were great.
Negative:
T.v did not work in the room. For the price I wouldn't consider to be value for money. Bed was somewhat comfortable.

Premises kept very tidy and staff friendly and accommodating
Negative:
Didn't like the room we were first put in. Air con didn't work, the room was too small and we were taken up the back stairs in the dark. It was quickly rectified to a ground floor larger room.
Summary: Overall it was a great place to stay and will likely stay again. Be mindful of where on the property your room is especi
