Positive: Close to the main attractions, but still quiet at night. We loved the size of the room and bathroom, plenty of space to spread out for a 7 night stay.
Negative: The only thing to note are three small inconveniences. The first is that the shower often overflowed as the shower drain was not very fast. We had to pile up a few towels each day to prevent overflow. The second is that, although we loved the location, the first 40 feet or so in front of the hotel felt dangerous for pedestrians as the sidewalk is uneven, or nonexistent as is other parts of old town). The hotel is on a very busy road, which we found difficult navigating. I didn’t read any other review that mentioned this, so if you plan on walking, take great care to get beyond the danger. Lastly, the pool is nothing more than a plunge pool. It’s very small for the size of the hotel, and only has 4 loungers, which tends to fill quickly. We would stay here again, so obviously these things are relatively minor.

Positive: Perfect for a solo traveler. I stayed two nights and couldn't be happier with my experience. The staff were so friendly, one even offered to loan me money when I said I hadn't gotten the chance to exchange money and the banks were closed. They were also very helpful with planning activities and all the major historic sights of penang are within walking distance. The rooms were also really clean and comfortable, and all the tap water was filtered (which was a really nice touch).

Staying at hotel Savv really made my week long Penang trip a wonderful experience! Having my cabin room upgraded to a deluxe double room was a pleasant surprise to kick off my vacation :)The location of the hotel was fabulous with the core area of George town being at walking distance from it. The close proximity to the clan jetties made for beautiful sunrise and sunset views from the property. Special mention to the staff - Angel, Vishan,Syukur, Ms.May & the security gaurds who were polite, friendly snd very helpful :) I enjoyed the breakfast served here, the addition of one local dish every morning was great! Ms.May (Breakfast in charge) actually arranged for kaya jam for me with my toast when I had mentioned to her that I really like kaya toast. She was also very sweet to pack breakfast to take with me to the airport on the last day of stay as I had an early check out.
The hotel being very close to the bus terminus and ferry terminal was also a huge plus. The pool and breakfast area with a lot of greenery was lovely too. The pool was a bit small, but that didn't deter me from using it especially on those really hot days :D
