“Be sure to request a room in the main hotel if you’re there for Sound of Music experience. There was a summer university program there the week we arrived. They used all rooms in the main hotel. Breakfast was included with our stay. If it’s an option, choose it. The dining room was absolutely charming and so well preserved. Together with the gardens, they were really the highlight of our stay. Go during a full or partial moon so night views are possible. It’s truly majestic! The views may be the best in Salzburg while still only less than a 10 min. Drive to the historic center of town. Bikes are included which I highly recommend to take out for a short ride around the lake. It’s quaint and provides for beautiful views of the property from across the lake. Overall, it was beyond a pleasure to stay at the property.”
