Summary: From start to end of stay, the staff were excellent, knowlegable, respectful and always happy to be of assistance. The food was delicious, large portions and the beer was very good. Wonderful town to easily walk about. High social consciousness w several charities highlighted. Room was exactly as described, clean, spacious and the bed/pillows super comfy. Highly recommend.

Summary: Nice room, friendly host (?), good location. Bit disappointed that breakfast turned out to be served in a paper bag in the room midweek, as I'd read some good reviews of the cooked breakfast. No food available in the pub on the Thursday night I was there

Summary: Check-in was quick and effortless - the lady who checked us in was very nice, efficient, and extremely helpful. Our room was spacious, with a double bed and a single bed, and a very basic continental breakfast was provided in the morning.
The room itself could use a little refurbishment - the carpet was a bit tired, some fittings could do with updating or replacing, and the bathroom would benefit from a fresh coat of paint. However, these were only minor niggles and didn’t affect our stay at all.
Despite heavy rain overnight, the windows provided excellent soundproofing, which made for a comfortable night’s sleep. The location was fantastic - very central, with plenty of cafés nearby. The tea room next door served a great bacon sandwich, too!
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend The Shakespeare Inn.

Summary: The pub was centrally located in town. Personnel were super nice and helpful. The housekeeping staff was a little forgetful-no towels in the room when I checked in and no phone to contact the bar to assist. I had to call using my international roaming to reach them. Breakfast was continental in the mini fridge. It was replenished each day but they forgot to replace the tea bags. However on the whole it was a lovely stay.
