“The hotel is nice and the staff are kind, always trying to help, but communication can be difficult since very few of them speak english. Compared to Shanghai, it was noticeable that much less english is spoken in the city.
Location is not the most convenien: going to the Forbidden City or joining a Great Wall tour always required taking a taxi.
One thing to note is that the hotel feels a bit less organized than others I’ve stayed in. For example, during our stay the city went into a sort of lockdown due to rehearsals for the Chinese military parade, but the hotel gave no prior notice and reception did not provide clear answers. We even had a guard on our very floor and none one told us.
Overall, friendly service but with room for improvement in organization and communication.”
