Petit Palace Los Austrias anteriormente Soho Boutique Ópera Reviews
Reviewer Type: Couple
Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Do not get discouraged by the next sentence and keep reading. The taxi we booked from the airport to the hotel, was not sure where this was as we got there, as there is no sign I believe... looks more like an apartment from the outside, but it does have a reception once you go in, and we loved our stay here. On an isolated block but incredibly close to a lot of great restaurants, centrally located, shopping, small convenience stores for basic stuff, friendly and helpful front desk, room was the biggest from the three we stayed in during our trip, and beautiful bathroom gets a big plus. A small window with limited view, but a nice one. Comfortable bed with multiple pillows, even a tiny gym on the basement, that while far from what you could get in other cities/fancy hotels, a nice addition and we really enjoyed our stay.
Summary: Loved this place, great stay

Positive: Very charming, and the staff treated us well. It helped a lot that we could stash our bags before check-in. So cute. Located within walking distance of everything we wanted to see on this leg of our trip. Easy to find.
Negative: Water leaked into our bathroom from the ceiling in the middle of the night. Not sure if it was from the guests upstairs or something else. The woman at the desk did her best for us, especially considering the late hour, and sincerely tried to make us comfortable, but I have to admit it colored my impression of the stay.
Summary: Despite a plumbing issue, we would give them another chance if we went back to Madrid.

Positive:
The staff is incredible, mindful and polite, always helping when needed
Negative:
The room was not clean one day and I didn't understand why, but perhaps it was my fault.
The bathroom doesn't have the border for the shower so that it is always wet on the floor after the shower.
Free water would be very useful too.
Summary: An excellent leisure time in Madrid
