Southern Forest Cottage (sleeps up to five guests)
is a self-contained two bedroom Celery Top Pine timber cottage in a peaceful forest setting. It is suitable for couples, or families and friends travelling together. It features a large deck, open plan living and a well equipped kitchen. We can accommodate five guests in two bedrooms (1 room with a queensize bed and 1 room with a queensize and a single bed). Fresh breakfast ingredients are provided. There is one bathroom. The forest and native garden setting provides home for many birds, lizards, pademelons and other wildlife and ensures privacy in a relaxing environment. Please note: no TV reception, limited mobile coverage (only Optus) and only slow Wifi. If you'd like to get away from it all, this is the place for you.
Surroundings
The surrouding area of Southport offers fantastic scenery with great views of Adamsons Peak and the Southwest Ranges. We are close to Hastings Caves and Thermal Pool. A trip to historic Recherche Bay and Cockle Creek rewards nature lovers. At the end of the road begins the Southcoast Track into the Wilderness. The 4 hr return day walk to South Cape Bay is a highlight.

We absolutely loved the Southern Forest Accommodation cottage! We expected a neat, comfortable place to stay and beautiful surrounds, and it certainly delivered those. What we weren't expecting was the attention to detail that the hosts had put into creating a truly enjoyable holiday experience at their cottage. From the extremely thorough guides to local walks, wildlife and activities, to the quality fittings, delicious supplies (including fresh, crusty artisan bread!) and friendly but not intrusive welcome, the whole stay was excellent. Southport makes a great base for exploring the far south of Tassie - we even got a faint glimpse of the aurora australis while there! If you're into nature, this is the place to book.
Such a beautiful little cottage set in the most incredible spot. Beautiful inside and out.would have loved to have spent longer here.
