Stony Creek Lodge | Cabin in Kaweah

Breakfast was good. Staff was very helpful after a little problem with our reserved room. They even gave me a birthday card and some flowers.

For more then $300 per night even off-grid property should offer decent accommodation. Plumbing problem but no discount was offered. Advertised restaurant worked only for three hours and was extremely basic. The property is old (1940) and requires a loving hand to upgrade it for travelers to enjoy. Its not a piece of paradise unfortunately how the leaflet calls it.

Didn’t realize how old is this place. Very old and very dated. We were there first week of June and it was hot like hell. Didn’t realize they don’t have AC. When we checked in the heat is still on yikes! We had 2 very uncomfortable nights there.

Easy parking but avoid the room we were in if possible. Room 9 gets the noise from the lobby and the stairs.

Great thing about this lodge is that it is inside the park. Also, there is a gas station on the property. The amenities are super basic. The breakfast can be made better with little effort. The bananas were ripe and black! The rooms are good. The staff are friendly.

Parking was easy, room are poor clean, bad matress can not sleep well, back pain because matress not good. NO BREAKFAST ON TIME

If youre staying here Im guessing its because you’re visiting Sequoia Nat’l Park. There are few things to note. (1) the check in person leaves at 7pm. This was NOT stated on their website or on any platform. So when we arrived(at 7:30pm) you can imagine how freaked out we were when none of the doors would open. Thank God for this guy who was waiting in his car and told us to check if there’s a number on the door we can call because there was an envelope with our name in it that contain the keycards. But we wouldn’t have noticed it if we werent paying attention because there were a lot of posters/signs at the door, it would have been better if they had a bigger sign about it. (2) Our room did NOT have a bar soap. I went downstairs the next day to ask for one and the girl said it should have had a bar of soap. So whoever cleaned our room just wasnt paying attention. Glad we had the shampoo atleast. Also, no hair dryers. (3) Breakfast was a joke. The only thing I ate was eggs, sausage, and bagel (4) Their website said they have a restaurant. Yea I dont know cause it was close by 7:30pm! Again, no where on their website said that. So we drove to the nearest restaurant to get food. (5) it’s an old building so I didnt expect much. The cleanliness was alright, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling. And the hotel overall is outdat. Overall wouldnt recommend, I suggest going to the other ones inside. I would pay a little more for the convenience of the other accommodations.

Property is at a great location, in between the 2 parks. Also, while it is a very simple and basic lodge, that is perfectly fine, since no one is visiting for a luxury stay option. But a better job is expected from the staff. Apart from the manager, there is a lack of professionalism on display. They can do a better job in ensuring there is no litter on the property. And make sure they are available after hours in case of guest emergencies.

Our television did not work for two days even when we were told it should work after contacting their tv service. Staff was extremely curteous.
