“This is not a truly pet-friendly facility, as pets are not even allowed near the central lodge where one is expected to check in and dine. The reception staff at our check in was, in my opinion, unprofessional, blaming us, their guests, for errors in booking through a ‘third party’, i.e. Hotels.com.
The food for our dinner at the lodge restaurant was excellent as were the wait staff (Allen and Ayoko).
The room that we were given was fine, but the USB charger had been dropped behind the bedside table, the reading light by the sofa did not function, the toilet paper was out of reach from the seat, and a deep cleaning of the bathroom tiles and grout with bleech was needed.
We could hear every footstep of the guests above us, which caused our dog to bark in response (unfamiliar settings and noises will do that). They called the lobby to complain ,,,,, obviously not pet owners.
Other than the dinner and the staff in the restaurant, our stay was forgetable. We had high hopes that we might come back in the future based on the glossy advertising but now we know that we should have stayed in the valley at the cowboy town of Winthrop instead of driving up the hill.”
