SunView Motel | Hotel in Tannersville, New York

“The place is clean and there is a lovely view in the morning. It has been recently renovated, maybe partially because some of the fixtures still look pretty old. Based on signage somewhere on the grounds there is WiFi but we could not find a network when we arrived and there was no information left in the room. Not a big deal since we didn’t need WiFi anyway. Our biggest problem was with the check in. Hotels.com claims we should have received an email with check-in instructions and an access code. We never got an email from the property and they did not return our call for over an hour, during which time we were on hold with hotels.com trying to arrange another hotel stay and ensure we would not be charged for this one. We eventually received a call from the property with very simple check-in instructions, which they should have emailed. Instead of leaving at a reasonable hour for a long drive followed by an early morning were delayed over an hour wondering if we’d be able to get into our room. This is otherwise a nice, clean no frills place.”

“Exceptionally clean and with terrific refridg, freezer and microwave. Very recently re modelled and hardwood floors!! Bathroom lovely tiles floor and large shower. Good water pressure and soft mountain water. Great room size. Very quiet, busy road only. Highly organized staff to keep things moving well for visitors( regarding keys and internet.) Will stay again and what hillside views!!! Not fancy but so well done. Loved the drive up the 4 mile switch backs to get there. Diner nearby”

“Basic motel with clean rooms and all amenities. Reasonably priced give the high season. Well located to Tannersville center and nearby hiking trails.”

“There was nobody in the office on Saturday at 5 p.m. We had to pick our key from a box, and we never saw a single employee during our entire stay. No phone numbers were provided for calling the manager or housekeeping - like in most hotels we had stayed at before - and no other information was given either either. Our room had the basic amenities, but there was no hairdryer, no luggage racks and no chair for a second person. Apparently there is also no insulation to dampen the noise in the building. Right above our room #18 there was apparently a party going on with kids running around and screaming and adults talking loudly until after midnight. We hardly got any sleep before the traffic started at around 6 a.m. This was one of the worse nights in my life, and I would never, ever return to your hotel again.”

“Clean rooms & gorgeous views! The bathroom was large, and the beds & floors were very clean & well-maintained. Each room had an outdoor table & 2 chairs provided to sit at to enjoy the mountain views. Plus, there was a large side yard on the property with plenty of room for anyone to enjoy it. True to its name, the Sunview has areas where both the sunrise & sunset can be seen (the sunset view is especially stunning).”

“The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. There is no one in the office after 6pm but they are available if you call the main number. After hours, keys are left in a metal box that anyone can access. I would have given 5* but the locks on the door prevent that. There is only one single doorknob lock. That's it. No deadbolt, no inside latch, nothing. And you can't test to make sure the door is locked because each time you do, it opens the door. As a solo traveler, that was disconcerting. Everything was fine, but what if it hadn't been?”

“The room was clean, beds and pillows were good. Parking is on site self parking. Amenities were ok, but I recommend to bring your own. Motel was quiet at night and the black out curtains help to have a good sleep.”

“It's a serviceable place if you can accept that there is no front desk, per se. But the key was there in a box that was marked so it hard to not figure it out. The room was clean and decent sized.”
