Super 8 by Wyndham Independence KS  |  Hotel in Independence

This is by far the worst review I have ever written on a stay. My confirmed confirmation was canceled 2 hours before check in time. The young lady at the front desk found us a regular room, but our suite with king size bed was gone. The next thing was the credit card machine did not work, so after several attempts she finally got it by entering the card number manually. The breakfast was basically non-existent. No fruit, no milk for cereal, no mix for the waffles. Did not see a single employee from 6am - 10am that morning. Liked the 24 hour availability of coffee.

Check in was easy and pretty smooth, even though they were training a new clerk. The room was clean and in good shape, but no coffee maker. Brand new TV on which no programming of any kind was available. We needed the sleep anyway. Breakfast was advertised as starting at 6:00 AM. I got there about 6:30. No milk, I had the assemble the coffee machine before getting coffee, and despite a sign saying wash the fruit before eating, there was no fruit. I ended up eating a yogurt and having coffee. I had planned on cereal, but no milk. We understand that it’s a budget motel, but my wife and I agreed that we won’t be staying there in the future. Too many things pointed to a lack of concern for the guests. We stay in this town from time to time, and there are too many better options for us to try staying here again. I hope the owners can right the ship and get things back on track.

Clean rooms, need more variety of breakfast

Stay was fine. The staff was appropriate at check in and check out but some of the other guest looked sketchy at best and I hated that dogs roamed the hallway. I would not stay here again. It's true, you get what you pay for!

I reserved the room over Expedia and provided all credit card into. But when at Super 8 in Independence, Ks I had to provide all of that information again. Was in room 228. The facility is 2 story but there was no elevator, only stairs, very surprised to see that. TV remote in the room did not work, had to go to front desk to get another one. New TV remote would not bring up the Guide, did not work.. Went back to front desk and they said to push 02 for guide, which worked, but there was no instruction as to do that so had to go to front desk. No coffee maker in the room. Toilet flushed very slowly. I would not stay at this property again. I would rate it as a 2 on a 1 to 10 scale.
