Relax at this new, off the grid, cabin with electricity and running water. Enjoy over 10 acres in woodlands with your friends and family. Utilize 2 kayaks, a row boat and a canoe on the pond. Life jackets are provided. Also, a pavilion with grills, picnic tables, fire pit (w/ dry wood), chairs and a clean outhouse. 3 full size beds and a kitchen. Tenting and RV options here, too!
The space
The property of Sweet Retreat has belonged to the Sweet family for several generations. It is on a working crop farm. The pond was created in 1950 as a refuge for migratory birds. The cabin has 1 bedroom and a loft upstairs. The 3 beds are full size mattresses and linens are provided. Bath towels and soaps are provided. There is a bathroom with shower. Cookware, dishes and utensils are provided. Coffee makers, microwave, 2 burner propane stove (propane provided), a 2 burner electric cooktop and a mini fridge with a freezer is in the kitchen. Tents and camper spots are available for an extra fee.
ATVs are not allowed. No guns or hunting. No big parties but you may have guests during the day. Unexpected guests are not to stay the night.
Bring your coolers and drinking water. This is off the grid so there's no WIFI.
Other things to note
The Sweet Retreat is many acres back from the Sweet Farmstead. The Sweet Farmstead is also an Airbnb. If your reservation coincides with a reservation with the Farmstead you may see other guests. They have access to the pond vicinity. However, they don't have access to the dock, pavilion, cabin vicinity or water craft.
There will be no refunds or discounts due to power outages due to weather. Randy has a generator for you in case that happens. He lives very nearby and can get there quickly
