“Check-in was terrible. I didn't get notification until the day I left for the trip that there was an additional $15 per night "resort fee." The problem is that we had no wifi in the mountains, and we needed to pay the additional money before our lock code for the room was provided. I personally believe disclosure of the extra fee should have been provided at the time the reservation was secured. The room was fine. There was no port for computer or cell phone charging. The bed downstairs could have been bigger, jutting into the living area, in my opinion.”

“A beautiful lodge nestled into the mountains only about 7-10 minutes outside of Helen. One of the coziest places we have stayed at and I already miss it. DEFINITELY WILL GO BACK. Also we saw some great wildlife including a bear, chipmunks, birds, and some cool wild orchids. The lodge had the right balance of charm and practicality and it was a great home base during my families adventures. Also very pet friendly!”

“My stay was excellent. The room was exactly as described. I loved and enjoyed the whirlpool and the shared balcony. The bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked really well. There is a nice coffee station and mini fridge/freezer combo in the room and a larger selection of coffee, creamer, snacks/breakfast items, and a microwave out in the common room. I used the microwave both nights late - and stopped the microwave a second before it binged - and it didnt seem to bother anyone. The common areas, room, balcony, and the property overall were clean, maintained and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and communicated well. The check-in and check-out instructions were clear. The property had ample parking and is close to Helen. I really enjoyed my stay.”

“Room was comfortable. Place was nice. I appreciated the water cooler and little fridge and snacks in the common room. Staff was very nice. Hopefully they will iron it our so they can send the room # and check in code via messages in the app before check in. That was the only issue, and they did sort it out quickly. Nice location near Helen and the hiking trails. You can schedule a tastinng also.”

“Loved the space - room was gorgeous. They were generous with snacks, etc. lots of thoughtful touches. My only complaint was no elevator and no one to help me get my luggage up the stairs. As a solo traveler that detail matters.”

“We chose Sylvan Valley Lodge for a quick trip to North Georgia because of the positive reviews and the reasonable price. For our needs, this place was perfect! I loved that it was so convenient to Helen yet just far enough away for some peace and quiet. The room was clean and nice, and the beds were comfortable. We got in a little later in the evening and were thrilled with the easy check-in and the grab-and-go snacks in the common area. That was such a pleasant and welcome surprise! We even found a small sealed bag of ice in the minifridge freezer provided for guests to use, and that came in handy for my insulated water bottle. It was those kinds of little thoughtful touches that really set this place apart. We would definitely stay here again.”

“Very clean & easy to access”

“This is an older property, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The self serve coffee bar has some light snacks, but guests should bring a well stocked cooler with drinks and actual food. If your stay is during the week, you will need go into town for breakfast and other meals. The online check-in process is very cumbersome requiring uploading a photo ID, then a "selfie" for verification and finally signing a lengthy rental agreement. You will not receive a passcode for the room lock, or the wifi password until after 3pm - IF THE WHOLE PROCESS WORKS! There's very weak cell service at the property which complicates the check-in. It took several calls (from town) to resolve this and finally receive the room lock code. Although the property in nice we will likely stay elsewhere next time to avoid the check-in hassle.”
