Symphony Inn  |  Hotel in Hayes Valley

Staff including the housekeeping dept were very helpful ; although the Inn has LIMITED FREE parking ( less than 20 spots including handicap with more than 30 rooms ) , there is a parking garage walking distance if need be; although it has carpet flooring the rest are great ( very comfortable clean beds and shower/toilet with amenities( and strong pressure hot water was a plus ) other than hair conditioner and hair dryer ) ; no issues with the air conditioner the walls/floorings are probably “ thin” since we can here people chatting or walking above us but it did not bother us ; VERY WELL lit Inn and being in a wonderful neighborhood there are so many choices to eat in local establishments ; the Inn has an elevator too ; within 20 minutes walk to Japan Town , close to different churches,walking distance to the city hall and symphony hall ; the only reason I did 4+ star is that the staircases that our room is close to has “ leftover” birds’ droppings and feathers ( must be a favorite flock spot to gather in certain time of the year ) that the Inn management could do a bit of the cleaning - overall we are very pleased with our stay - will go back here if and when visiting SFO happens again.

It wasnt bad, just the pictures of the room I suppose to get and compared to what I got was bs. It shows these amazing rooms with those shower heads that come off, and i got non off that, i still paid premium price but it was very misleading

The room was decent enough for an overnight. The bed seemed clean but for some reason the decorative runner at the foot of the bed was disheveled. When we entered the room we could hear water running and we thought it was just the neighbors taking a shower; it wasn’t. The toilet was stuck running. The toilet bowl was stained pretty bad. Only a 2-in-1 shampoo was in the bathroom along with body wash, no hair conditioner. I did appreciate a liquid hand soap at the sink. The sink had a leak under it; I noticed it by feeling drips hitting my feet while using it. The room itself was decent size. Seemed mostly clean but just dated and worn in. There was a microwave, mini coffee maker and a mini fridge. Front desk staff was very friendly at check-in and check-out. We appreciated its location being in walking distance to restaurants and shops in Hayes valley and close to City Hall/Bill Graham/SF Symphony.

Friendly staff, fabulous walkable location with great shops and restaurants, in room fridge and microwave, nearby Trader Joe’s to stock fridge, safe and free parking… this is our spot in SF

It was okay; worth the price relative to its location

We were very pleased with our room. The room and beds were very comfortable and clean. Parking was convenient. One suggestion would be a handicap bar by the toilet and shower.

Overall, it was a excellent for: 1) location near California Pacific Medical Center; 2) very affordable with parking included for SF; 3) clean and safe; 4) staff were helpful and courteous; 5) A/C worked well; 6) adjacent quaint burger joint with good fries and shake. The downside: 1) room needs to be updated with worn carpet, dingy interior and odd felt on the edge of the desk; 2) soap and shampoo were watery; 3) it takes awhile for warm water to reach the shower; 4) fridge was loud for about 10 minutes every few hours.
