The staff were super helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation is undergoing some repairs but the overall cleanliness needs to be addressed. Especially the staircase and communal areas, and the roof of the building that you see from the windows on the 1st floor. Loads of cr@p left up there which is unsightly. Breakfast were great and the Chinese food of an evening is good also. Central location was a blessing.
I very much liked the refurbished room which was quiet and comfortable. I was impressed by the electric blinds and by the fact that the hot drinks range included chocolate. The wifi signal was strong. I had to laugh at the ten yes 10 USB charging sockets in the room but I am sure someone will use them all. I needed a room in the area and so was very pleased that the hotel made the room available even though there were (very) minor snagging items outstanding (missing bathroom tiles and making good the old location of the socket). Thank you for doing this. I recommend this hotel and will seek to stay here again next time I am in the area.
Our room (king size bed) was nice but the bathroom needed serious updating (possibly 80s, coloured suite, screwed-on panels) and the toilet did not flush effectively. The entrance and reception felt like you were going into an office in a converted house and the stairs and hallways were very shabby. The decor in the restaurant was… interesting!
