The Captain Stannard Reviews
Summary: My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Captain Stannard. The entire place was very clean and well kept. It is technically an unmanned hotel but employees do come and go occasionally. There is a sister bed and breakfast just across the street. Outside amenities are shared such as the B&Bs access to the river and kayaks. Not a problem for me but there are no TVs in the rooms. The first floor has several very large sitting areas and a section with cute french chairs and tables to eat the provided continental breakfast. Coffee is put out at 7am. There is also a Keurig coffe machine there at is always available. Nice porch with outside seating. The yard didn't specifically have any lawn furniture but there were a few plastic chairs stacked in the corner. Fairly short walk to the beach.

Summary: This was an exceptional place. We had the most wonderful stay, the room was just lovely and all amenities were excellent. Breakfast was great and catered for my being gluten free. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Summary: We loved the decor, the layout, and the amenities of the hotel. The common area was a great place to relax, as was the side porch with its rockers and complimentary beverages. Our breakfast included fruit that was ripe and delicious, as well as a variety of nice grains and protein offerings. We did not see any of the staff during our visit. This was never a problem, but it might have been if we had encountered immediate on-site help. The parking was excellent, and there were lots of recreational opportunities, including indoor and outdoor games. Our room was lovely, and the bed was very comfortable.

Summary: I had an excellent experience at Captain Stannard. The property was comfortable, well maintained, and very inviting. Summary: I was only able to spend one night here for a work trip but everything was clean and cozy. It is the cutest Inn and very close to the beach. I’d certainly stay again.

Summary: The Stannard Inn is an absolute jewel box on the Connecticut shoreline! It is a beautifully decorated coastal chic Captain’s home with thoughtfully appointed guests rooms and public areas. The Innkeepers were so deliberate with the amenities they offered and we could not have been more comfortable or felt more welcome. Will definitely be back again
