A beautiful, historic hotel overlooking the ocean with a heated pool. Our room was stunning, with ocean views and breezes. It is nostalgic and peaceful, and the marine room restaurant was great for delicious lobster rolls at lunch. We felt the breakfast buffet was disappointing, and some of the staff were not pleasant, but it wouldn't stop us from returning.
The property itself is beautiful and well maintained, with gorgeous grounds and a great overall atmosphere. We were fortunate to have mild weather during our stay, but I can see how the rooms could become uncomfortable on hotter days. The rooms are on the smaller side, the beds weren't very comfortable, and the overall upkeep of the rooms could use some improvement. That said, the amenities really made our stay enjoyable. The pool was fantastic, the food on the property was very good, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Having direct access to the beach was definitely a highlight and made for a relaxing stay.
