Some good beer in the bar (Gales HSB - originally a Hampshire brew but now brewed by Fullers) Foodwise a usual pub menu (would ditch the skinny chips for fat ones) and excellent breakfast Would recommend to others and would stay again”

“Excellent stay. It felt like someone had actually stopped to think about what a visitor actually needs in a room such as a place to hang a wet towel, a surface to put your toiletries in the bathroom, an excellent shower and hairdryer and a very comfy bed. I was concerned about traffic noise as the pub is located on a main road and our room (Mad Mullet) was situated at the front but I needn’t have worried; the traffic died down and earplugs are supplied! Breakfast was excellent, a “healthy English” was offered alongside the usual full English. All in all, a great stay, would highly recommend.”

“This was the 3rd time that we have stayed at the hotel and as previously it was very clean, well maintained and the staff were as usual very helpful indeed. Our dog was also very welcome for a small charge which is great especially when you are visiting so many areas of the New Forest.”

“Lovely hotel with some really nice touches. New modern room was a bit let down by a poor maintenance issue. The trap/ plug in the shower cubicle was blocked, and you had to have a very quick shower to prevent flooding. I reported this issue at breakfast the next morning at 9:00am, unfortunately when I checked out the following morning the issue had not been resolved. Shame really as it was a nice hotel conveniently located for a nice riverside 15min walk into Romsey. Overall staff, food, and drinks very good with friendly professional staff. Perhaps bedding could have been better prepared as bed dressed for winter not summer which given the hot weather became quite uncomfortable for sleeping with only a fan which basically blew hot air around, I believe some rooms have A/C which I would request if I stayed there again, which I would do. 2nd night was disturbed by door slam shuts and noisey guests returning to their rooms quite late, not really the hotels fault Hope it helps”
