“The food in the restaurant was okay, but not well-coordinated. The staff in the restaurant was helpful but sometimes with character that impacted the cozy environment to relax.”

“We have just finished a 5-day stay in a suite at Vaya The Crystal. We visited the hotel two years ago and were so impressed that we decided to return, this time with our child. Unfortunately, our recent experience did not live up to the high standards we remembered. ​The issues began upon arrival. We were directed to use the hotel’s underground parking garage, which was so steep that our car’s undercarriage scraped against the concrete. While the hotel helped us find an alternative spot afterward, we were left with a scratch under the car, which was a very poor start to our holiday. ​When we arrived at our suite, we were met with a foul smell coming from the bathroom drains. It took a full 24 hours before the smell dissipated enough for us to feel comfortable in the room. Furthermore, basic amenities were missing: there were no slippers provided, and the complimentary bottle of water, which we had enjoyed during our previous visit, was no longer available. ​On a positive note, the breakfast was excellent, and the spa facilities met our expectations, as did the room itself once the initial issues were resolved. ​However, considering Vaya The Crystal is a 4.5-star hotel, one expects the basics to be handled with care—from functional room amenities to safe parking facilities. We had high hopes for another fantastic stay, but this time, the overall quality simply did not reflect the hotel's status or price point.”

“Not quite a 4-star experience. A beautiful property and nice rooms, but let down by poor housekeeping and disappointing evening meals in particular for children. Lacking the Austrian charm that we would expect and enjoy on a skiing holiday. ”

“Room was good, pool was excellent and breakfast was also great. The waitress we had at dinner each night was also fantastic. Good location next to one of the ski lifts. Downsides were the temperate of the room, it seems even though there is a thermostat it takes several days to get to temperature and ironically it was just way too hot, until about day 4 of our stay. Also not impressed with being charged so much for tap water, the restaurant in town charged half as much, and when it’s half board it’s a bit surprising really. ”

“Review: VAYA Obergurgl I’ve stayed at VAYA Obergurgl a couple of times now, and while the hotel remains completely sufficient for what you need—clean, comfortable, and well-located—I can’t help but feel the quality has dipped, particularly when it comes to the dining experience. The food just doesn’t quite meet the standard it once did, which is a bit disappointing. Still a solid option, but not quite as polished as it used to be.”

“We very much enjoyed our stay here. Staff at the reception, bar and restaurant were outstanding. The breakfast and dinner were both generous and had a wide selection. The ski storage area and the easy access to the lift were fantastic. The only two things that could be improved are the wine selection in the bar and raising the temperature a bit in the outside warm pool”

“This hotel was perfect for our family ski trip!! The apres-ski facilities were wonderful -- pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. (The water temperature in the hot tub needed to be warmer though.) The breakfast and evening meals far exceeded our expectations -- wonderful table service, great variety, and lots of healthy vegetarian and vegan options. Every member of staff was superb -- polite, professional, friendly, and fun!”
