Positive: Beautiful, old, well-maintained inn in the heart of Dorset. Welcoming and helpful staff who gave us an orientation tour of the building. We could walk from there to the Dorset Playhouse, which was what got us there in the first place. Good but expensive restaurant on the premises. I left my phone and watch charger in the room and it was efficiently returned to me.
Negative: We do not often stay in $300+ per night hotels, but decided to splurge. We therefore expected everything to be perfect and it was not. If breakfast is included, then pay the wait staff appropriately so that tips are included as well. Especially when the list price for the breakfast is high so that a 20% tip is a significant amount. The signal to the TV in our room cut out every 5-10 minutes which doesn't make for relaxed watching.
Summary: Nice old inn but overpriced.
