“The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Full English breakfast good and cooked freshly. We ate in on 2 evenings and standard was very good. The host makes his own Spaghetti Bolognaise, Chile and Mushroom Stroganoff which are excellent. Pub open Tuesday to Sunday but the hosts will cook a meal for guests on a Monday evening. There were locals in the bar, the hosts will do anything for the guests. Although the hotel and bar need some updating and loving care the double room was comfortable and roomy. Good shower and good sized bathroom. Good location for getting out and about in the New Forest. The steaks in the restaurant are also very good and the one I ordered was cooked exactly how I wanted. Overall cleanliness was okay but you could pick holes if you looked deeply (dust in nooks and crannies). Unfortunately the property is up for sale and could be another victim of these times we live in.”
