The Lincklaen House  |  Hotel in Cazenovia

Lovely stay at the Lincklaen which has charming rooms and a great location right in the center of town. The hotel did seem to be understaffed which made service very slow. I would return if I'm in that part of NY again.

We loved the elegance of the hotel. We had a very spacious and beautiful room. The A/C was running well, a little noisy but we turned it off at night. The plus of the hotel was the free parking and the elegant restaurant with extensive menu reasonably priced. The breakfast was good. Highly recommended for its location as well. Please note that being a historic and an old building there is no elevator.

This is a hard one, The staff is very attentive, warm and hard-working. The building is incredibly historic with beautiful public spaces. Restaraunts are top draw, huge menus and the kitchens are super clean. The guest rooms need a deep clean (move the furniture and vacuum underneath) tyoe of cleaning. The rooms need a major refresh and a central theme (is it period or modern and stick with it). Get the feeling is that capital is not being spent because revenues are low on the rooms and because there is no spending, the revenue is low. It may also be that the owner is aging. The positive is that it is inexpensive, great location and wonderful character and incredible staff, downside is the rooms are not very appealing in current state.

Felt a little like being at an Inn - historical buildings, interior decorations, range of restaurants, Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast passable.

Nice historical property. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. An elevator would have been helpful for the suitcases. Staff were friendly and helpful

Hotel stay was excellent. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is old and therefore the rooms feel outdated but that's part of the charm. Now for the downsides. The free breakfast was basic. Fresh fruit, packaged cereals, yogurt and a waffle iron to make your own waffles. We didn't eat the breakfast since we like different options. I'm not saying the breakfast is bad, just underwhelming but it is free so I know many people would be more than satisfied with that. The only other issue is the road noise. This hotel is right on the main street and traffic noise is noticeable. I wasn't too bothered by it but my girlfriend was. Again this is an older hotel and expectations should consider this. Overall a lovely stay in an historic hotel with great staff.

Highly recommend this property! Everything was clean and the room was extremely comforting. AC in the room worked great, which was great for such a large old building, it would have been very warm. The tavern in the basement was delightful as were all the local shops in the vicinity.
