The Moat House | Hotel in Acton Trussell, England

“Great hotel set in lovely grounds.”

“This was our first visit. The hotel was excellent and the grounds are spectacular. The staff were wonderful. A faulty bath tap in our original room resulted in an instant room change (an upgrade!). There is little else to add really...it was superb. Just go.”

“Lovely property with great rooms and plenty of space. You can also purchase a cigar from the bar. The breakfast was delicious”

“I found the duvet too warm for sleeping with no alternative blanket or cover. The sink and bath toiletries are fixed to the wall and very awkward to use. Everything else was very good”

“Breakfast was poor- I think there were probably more guests than normal. But the cooked food was mostly run out. The sausages and bacon was insipid and undercooked. Scrambled eggs were watery. You a coffee machine so guests can have a nice coffee. All in all… pretty rough!”

“Issue with flies in bar eating area at lunch. Room was great.”

“Huge bonfire burning on arrival, Average dinner, average service, disco running till 1am, light in room not working, door didn’t lock, heating clanging all night, average breakfast.”

“Lovely room and environment.”

“Great place to stay with our dog travelling between Scotland and the south coast. Just off the motorway but feels as if we are in the country”

“The Moat House is such a lovely hotel, great surroundings. We stayed here with our little dog, there is a lovely walk for dogs. He was allowed in the bar area where we had food. All the staff from check in to bar staff were very friendly. The room was very clean, very spacious. Food was really good too. Cannot fault anything, will definitely be back.”
