The Old Vine is a hotel in Winchester, set in historic surroundings just 492 feet from Winchester Cathedral. From here, you are also close to Winchester Crown Court and Hampshire County Council, with the city’s central streets and landmarks easy to reach on foot. It is a practical base for time in Winchester, with free WiFi and parking available for a smoother stay. Inside, the rooms are designed for a simple, comfortable rhythm. Each one has a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, and a coffee machine, while some rooms also include a seating area for a little extra space to unwind. Details such as bathrobes, slippers, and free toiletries add a more settled feel, and the property also offers heating and luggage storage. Shared spaces give the stay its character. The on-site restaurant and award-winning bar bring together breakfast, classic pub food, and a selection of ales in an oak-beamed setting, so you can step downstairs for a meal or a drink without leaving the property. The Old Vine feels straightforward and well placed, with the ease of a central Winchester location and the atmosphere of a hotel that lets the city lead the stay.

Positive: We were greeted by Bradley and shown to our fabulous room. He, and all the staff were friendly and attentive when necessary, location is a stone’s throw from the Cathedral.
Negative: The bed was a bit small for us but we knew that going in and would stay there again. It did not affect our enjoyment.
Summary: Wonderful facilities, ambience, staff, food and location makes this place a MUST stay if you are in the area.

Beautiful period property rooms amazing so much character!
Negative:
Would love to stay again only thing I would change is not having a room near the kitchen and above the outside smoking area as pretty noisy! Also parking a nightmare but not the hotels fault as Winchester ridiculously busy!
Summary: Amazing beautiful central location, staff could not do enough and worked so hard, will be back!

Positive:
What a lovely welcome! We were shown where the parking is and Bradley was lovely and took our bags to our room. We had a couple of dishes of the light bites and they were lovely.
The room was lovely, crisp linen, fluffy towels, coffee machine (and tea stuff!), it was clean and well equipped.
Because it was central, right in the centre, we were able to pop back with bags very easily.
The breakfast was amazing! Hot plate, well cooked produce and lovely friendly service, nothing was too much trouble.
The staff here are amazing, really enjoyed our stay here, thanks.
Negative:
A very small niggle, the TV needs looking at as only 3/4 channels. In fairness when we are away it is only on for the news and not for long. Also in fairness we never mentioned it because I'm sure it would have been sorted if we had.
Summary: Lovely, friendly, very central, pub with good food and great rooms.
