Excellent place to stay. Nice views friendly walking distance to the water

I am a frequent traveler, and this is one of the loveliest properties I have ever stayed at. I don’t typically care for inns (too small, old, and chummy), but this is not your usual. It sits on a beautiful perch overlooking the bay. It is modern and clean with porches and seating everywhere. They have thought of everything (except a full-length mirror). The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is excellent - special chef’s breakfast (flavored whipped butters, homemade granola and so much more) and a complimentary welcome cocktail. I wish we had stayed longer than one night. The only downside I will mention is that it was difficult to find staff for questions, checkout, etc. But when you find them, they are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Topside!

Topside Inn is just an amazing property and we were greeted with warm welcome with crafted welcome drinks from Rebecca. Grounds are well maintained and views of Boothbay Harbor were fantastic from our room at the Main House. Short walk to the harbor/wharf/town where they were having the Windjammer Festival (not aware until we got there on this unplanned trip). Lots of great bars and restaurants to choose from. Our bedroom was super clean, beautifully decorated, bed was comfortable with sheets that are so soft and cozy. They had phenomenal toiletries (they smell wonderful) in a clean and updated bathroom. Complimentary coffee and bottled water in room which was a nice touch. Couple of local beer and white wine in fridge and couple of red wine with reasonable price tag. The breakfast was to die for! Homemade granola, specialty butter, seasonal fruits, made to order eggs, and daily plated breakfast special were all phenomenal. Chef made Creole Shrimp and Grits on our first day and Waffles with fresh nectarines drizzled with Grand Marnier on our last day. Everything looked and tasted delicious!! Many compliments to the Chef, the GM Greg, housekeepers and the entire staff especially Iulia.....they all worked truly as a team. This is a 5 star property and will come back again for sure. Thank you so much for making this a memorable stay.

While a last minute booking, this was a very pleasant surprise. The property is very well maintained, relatively modern, with good amenities, and with great service. They have an anytime tea/coffee/soft drinks station with some snacks, offer a welcome cocktail at check-in, and provide a great breakfast that rivals many B&Bs. Staff is very welcoming and nice. There are many sitting areas around the hotel and on the grounds. Everything was great and we'll stay there again.

Our room and the property were as expected from the photos with the exception of an unusually strong chemical “air freshener” smell that was used (presumably) to mask the smell of something else. In addition, the air conditioner was on full blast when we walked in, so the room was strangely cold. We were tired, but tried to open all of the windows and the door to try to air out the room and turned off the air conditioner. After about an hour, the smell did not go away so we reached out to management, who were completely unhelpful. They offered us a fan or a change of rooms to a much smaller room with a much smaller bed. They did not walk the 50 feet to the room to better understand the problem or offer a similar room without the cleanup problem. They gave us the impression that they could really care less. In addition to the strange smell and the immovable management team, the floor was dirty (we know this because we wiped up the water that spilled from the free standing tub in the bedroom and the towel we used to wipe up the water was filthy afterward) which led us to believe that perhaps a dog had been in the room before us. All in all, it’s a cute property but we would never go back. At nearly $500/night, we had hoped for more.

Food is incredible. Everything is very clean. Greg the manager is awesome. He is always around to answer any questions!

Beautiful property. Delicious drinks and cookies and great breakfast. Staff all very responsive, approachable and personable.Have already booked the same night next year.

A great place to stay when visiting Boothbay Harbor. Great views from rooms, staff was excellent. Highly recommend.
