Ueno K

Positive: Host's guidance was super helpful and allowed an early check in

Positive: Great location, very convenient for a larger travel group and good facilities

Positive: Good location near to Ueno station, Ameyoko market and convenience stores. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet which was good being on the ground floor.

Negative: The access arrangement was a little confusing but OK once we got used to it. It was a little small for 4 adults with luggage, but manageable.

Positive: The location is great, as it's more residential so we had few issues with sound or commotion from the city. It's also fairly close to multiple train stations.

Negative: When we checked in, the air was off/not flowing. For what you pay, air should be turned on prior to guest arrival when it's the boiling summer in Tokyo. Also be warned the hot water may not be automatically turned on, and the panel is above the washing machine. There are no instructions for anything in the apartment, not even the washer, so you'll need to rely on the screenshot they send before check in to use the washer. There's no place to hang bath towels except a rack inside the shower which gets soaked, which got annoying quickly. We had 4 people and no place for towels to go. There are a few little hooks in the bathroom on the emergency door, but they don't support the weight of a towel without falling. There was also only 3 of those hooks, and up to 6 people can stay in the 3 bedroom. The futons feel like you're laying flat on the floor, and the western beds are uncomfortable and small (for two people, and we're already small people). No iron when requested twice, once before check in and once during. The sink is inside of the living room and not in the bathroom, which can be a little awkward if you're travelling with friends instead of family. There is no reception, which is fine, but be warned anyone staying here can arrive at your door. When you click on a number on the elevator, it takes you directly to the door of a room, not a hallway. If someone clicked our floor number, they would arrive at our shoes or anything we left in our entryway. I respected the rule to not bring my shoes inside the room, but I was worried someone would arrive at our floor and take my shoes. I know Japan is very safe with little theft, but what if another traveller had bad intentions? I wouldn't directly say you shouldn't stay here, but please be aware of these things.

Positive: We loved it. Location is top notch. The whole place was top notch. The entire family loved it so much so that we would book this place again in a heart beat.

Negative: There was construction across the street but honestly it wasn’t bad. There’s really nothing we didn’t like. We loved it.

Positive: The check in process and the passcodes were already given to us very well in time. It was a very smooth process. The apartment was very clean with all the amenities already in place. It's located close to the Ueno K station as well as Okachimachi Station on JR and JY lines. (JK 29 (Keihin-Tohoku Line) | JY 04 (Yamanote Line)) Do take sometime to explire the Ameyoko market and the Ueno K park area. Walkable distance from the apartment and beautiful park with a zoo and museum. Don Quijote in Asakusa is hardly 10 mins in the subway from the hotel. Really convenient if you want to do shopping. And it runs 24x7. Go there post dinner or early morning and you can be back in no time. This apartment is really nicely located.

Negative: I wish it was a little more closer to the the main Ueno K station. moving around with the luggage was a bit of a hassle. It would have been great if the apartment has a storage for the suitcases, we had to make do with them in the living room itself. But that's how you travel :) Also, would be great if we had an extra bathroom/toilet. For 6 people travelling one toilet alone could get a bit tricky at times.

Positive: Really spacious apartment with good layout for a family. Apartment had all the things you would need. Staff was quick to respond.
