Lovely location, very remote and I can imagine how beautiful it must be in nice weather. Stunning old cottage, lots of character and nice touches.
The open fire was lovely and probably the best thing about the property especially in the cold weather, also the fact that fire wood is provided is a big bonus.
The property is equipped with everything you need, the house is warm and the shower is excellent. All the essentials such as bed sheets, towels, etc were clean. Only sugestii would be to use less fabric conditioner, as the smell was extremely strong.
Access is quite tricky, but this is being mentioned from the beginning so you know what you are in for before booking. We thought it was easier than expected, but then my partner is an experienced driver.
Communication with the host was good.
Negative:
Double bed is really small, we ended up sleeping in separate bedrooms as too small for 2 adults in our view. Pillows are poor quality, extremely soft and keep no shape whatsoever.
However, I appreciate that the above is a matter of taste so other people might be okay with it.
Better, clear instructions regarding the garbage situation would help.
The only thing that I would say it's really necessary is a deep clean of the cottage, with attention to details such as cobwebs. I will not go into all the details, as it was clean on the surface, but let's say that a deep clean would prevent quests' clothes from getting covered in dog hair when they sit on the sofa and it would also improve the smell in the cottage.
However, that would not stop us from going back so if you don't expect luxury, you should be fine.

Positive:
I spent a weekend at the farmhouse with two friends. It is a very beautiful and peaceful location, and is very isolated with great stars at night. If you want to get away from it all this is the place. It is surprising to find somewhere so remote in Southern England.
It is possible to walk to the nearest village where there is a shop and a couple of pubs, though this requires a reasonable level of fitness and suitable map (and I would say not possible in the dark - certainly not when it is as wet as it was when we were there). We had a great lunch in The Bear. It's probably advisable to take most of what you will want to eat and drink with you. There are plenty of other walks in the area too. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds were comfy, shower was good and the house was very warm.
Negative:
Last bit of the drive to the property, whilst not long, was a bit difficult in the wet conditions. Other than this, nothing.
Summary: Fantastic weekend

Stunning country farmhouse steeped in character. Reminded us of the film the holiday! Loved the open fire and logs were provided which was just magical! Surrounded by ancient woodland and wildlife away from the daily stress of life! Kitchen was well stocked and surprisingly warm for such an old property. Just magical - the perfect Christmas cottage!!
Negative:
Just the ghosts at night - to be honest it added to the fun! The road down to the cottage was a little challenging but fine once we navigated the road.
Summary: The perfect hide away, in a beautiful valley, surrounded by an ancient woodland and wildlife. Absolutely magical - by a

We have booked for a week with my family and it was great! Location is excellent, Cottage lay's in a valley surrounded with amazing forest with his animals like foxes, badgers, deers, snakes, squirrels ect..Only the way to de cottage can be tricky for the first time, so caution! Cottage is well equipment, all comfort what you need for a vacation. Children can play around, there's a water stream, pingpong table and others toys to play with. There's a ton of walk routes around the Cottage that we walked, kids loved it, also the camp fire's we made.
We had a very good time here, we like the silents of the forest and the birdsongs in de morning. First day we had a very warm welcome from the neighbour Neil and his lovely dog Hetty with 3 pots of delicious honey from his own bee's. This is the place for 'peace and quiet' what we say in the Netherlands, we come back for sure! Thanks for everything!
Negative:
Nothing, even that phone no have reception..

location, in the country surrounded by wild life.
beds were comfy and we all slept well.
Negative:
just a single toilet which had broken before we arrived. with the remote location and potential number of guests it should really have 2 separate toilets.
Summary: Driftcombe Farm Cottage is lovely, in a beautiful countryside setting with quiet easy walks direct from the cottage.

Mostly the location.
Negative:
Lots of cobwebs and spiders inside. Also there was a marathon walk that passed the drive way all day so we had to keep our puppy in. We chose this property so our puppy would be safe outside on his own.
