Positive: I had stayed here before, and when I decided to visit Sweden again, Mikael’s house was the first place I checked. It’s a wonderful spot for those who prefer to stay away from the city. I recommend coming by car since you’ll be located between Uppsala, Arlanda, and Stockholm, it’s easy to get wherever you want to go. I also suggest visiting Skokloster Castle, and if possible, taking a tour inside.
The house has all the tools and amenities you might need. The host is very responsive and will help you as quickly as possible if anything comes up. If you’re coming from the Stockholm direction, I recommend stopping by Lidl to do some shopping before arriving the store isn’t too far by car.
Finally, make yourself a coffee, head down to the lake, and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature :)
Negative: If you’re coming by car, there’s a slightly sloped parking area in front of the house. Avoid parking there on rainy days. It can be difficult to get the car out of the mud.

100% authentic “off grid” Swedish cabin feeling, yet equipped with all necessities

Very close to the water, very few people around, cozy, homey atmosphere

Fabulous place, full of sunlight, equipped with everything one might need!
The host was very kind and responsive and he sorted the sauna for us, which was a great experience next to the water.
Watching the sky, while falling asleep on the sovloft was magical, highly recommended!
Negative:
Nothing, it was all perfect.

The location of the house was perfect. There is also a kayak and dock that whenever you can use. Host was a super. He helped us for everything. There was a BBQ place which we used once. Parking a car is not a problem by the way. House was super quiet and every kitchen tool is in it.
Negative:
There was nothing we didn't like.

Beautiful location on the water. Farmland surrounding and close to Sigtuna, with more privacy than being right in the town. Beautiful dock on the lake. The kitchen was sweet and had everything we needed. Great little cottage. The host was super friendly and available nearby, but we didn’t feel like we were in their space at all.
Negative:
Bathroom sink was very small and so a bit awkward to use, and the shower had very limited hot water, although it’s no problem if you wait between showers.
