Summary: As somebody who stays 40-50 nights per year in hotels, I typically would say that you get what you pay for. This was not the case for our stay. The front desk communication was problematic from the start. Great location but disjointed property with small rooms lacking basic hotel amenities, smoking in the common areas (right outside our room) and housekeeping overall was concerning. I would recommend you stay elsewhere in your trip to Nantucket and consider booking outside of hotels.com.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at the Faraway in Nantucket. The property is beautiful, well maintained, and full of charm. The location couldn't be better—it's an easy walk to the local shops, restaurants, and the waterfront, making it simple to explore everything downtown Nantucket has to offer. The combination of a lovely property and a perfect location made for a fantastic stay. We would definitely return!

Summary: Cute dog friendly boutique hotel in the heart of town, super convenient and vibey. Service is very “hands off” so don’t expect anyone to go out of the way for you. Rooms had very thin walls and you can hear everything including neighbours and street noise. The restaurant and patio is very nice for a sit welcoming guests outside the hotel as well. It would be nicer if it had more of an intimate personal hotel feel for guests with special perks or discounts on drinks / food. Quite overpriced for what you get but that is the island overall.

Summary: I've never bothered writing a review for a hotel, but I will say this was one of the best hotels I've stayed at in a while. We had a basic room with an adjoining bathroom at a pretty decent price for an overnight the week of july 4th. It was decorated so well. The toiletries were so good I looked into purchasing them when I get home to find they were way outside my price range. The amenities were AMAZING! We took the complimentary bikes along with the complimentary beach chairs and beach towels to the beach one day. I've stayed at a lot of hotels and it's almost unheard of for all of the above to be included with the stay. We've already recommended this hotel to friends and if and when we go back we will absolutely be staying here again. Also, the staff was wonderful. 10/10 Would recommend.

Summary: For the price I thought this place was just okay. It was very expensive and the rooms were small. You could hear every little noise from the hallway, in the adjacent rooms and in the room above. I would pick another hotel if I go back to Nantucket.

Summary: Property was lovely and staff was very helpful. My complaint would be the room itself. There were no tables or chairs as shown in the booking photo. Therefore, there was no where to sit and relax or to place your things. I didn't sleep well the entire stay, as the mattress had deep divots in it making it extremely uncomfortable. I think its time for a replacement mattress. Also, if you like a fluffy pillow bring your own. Though nice enough the feather pillows went flat also making it an uncomfortable sleep. The bathrooms are very nice. However, poor water pressure in the showers. Again, property was beautiful, but the room itself was not a comfortable relaxing place. Fortunately, your not spending much time in the room while in beautiful Nantucket.

Summary: The Faraway was a very beautifully appointed Boutique hotel and we loved our stay here. The rooms are small especially if you have large suitcases but very charming and the courtyard is a really fun place to hang out. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Nantucket. The staff were a little unresponsive and often seemed to be unsure how to help. One day our room was not made up despite us being out all day. Otherwise I highly recommend the Faraway, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Summary: The hotel is recently opened, modern and clean. The staff are pleasant and try to be helpful. The best part of the hotel is the central open courtyard, which is part of the restaurant and bar, but guests of the hotel can use it without having to purchase anything. It's a very nice fairly large area off the street, surrounded by hedges, with chairs, couches, and umbrellas. The only issue is that they close it up at the first sign of rain, and then the outdoor seating is much more limited to a couple of small patios.
The reason for the 3 star rating are the rooms themselves. We booked a "petite king," and petite it was. Actually, we were first offered a first floor room in the Gatehouse, that was a dark windowless cave, more suited to be a storeroom than a luxury hotel room. When we objected, we were offered a much brighter room with 3 real windows on the second floor, but still very small. We asked if any larger rooms were available, there must be some, but none were available when we booked online or when we checked in, so we accepted the second room.
It had a comfortable king bed with just enough room to walk around it, and a decent bathroom, but nothing else. There was a tiny closet that was consumed by a minifridge, ironing board, iron, umbrella, safe, and 2 bathrobes, leaving enough room for a baseball cap or two. There was no room to unpack at all, we had to live out of our suitcases. There were no luggage racks either, so our suitcases were open on the floor.
