“Great location (outside Vik, but just 10min of driving from there) that is very close to puffins watchout, nice room, good breakfast (although for additional payment of 20 euros per person), they have a common kitchen with all the kitchenware, sofas and ping-pong table.”

“This was an convenient stop on our journey around the ring road. The room was small but ok for what we needed. The bathroom appeared to have some possible mold on the ceiling.”

“There are hairs and spider webs at the corner. The share kitchen is a bit messy with the utensils (but I guess this is more like the problem of guests). There is a bit distance to the closet restaurant and groceries (20 mins to Vik), but it is also close to Reynisfjara and Dyrholaey, so all depend on your schedule and route,”

“The Farmhouse Lodge is actually a few separate buildings. We stayed in Guesthouse Room #5 with our own private bathroom, which was huge. There are no staff members on the property so we followed a series of signs to go to the building where the keys were kept for “check-in.” An email in advance with instructions and what to expect would have been helpful. Our room was plenty big with a little seating area but there was an odd clicking noise from one corner over the bed and what looked like mold on the ceiling. There was no landline in the room so when we had a problem with the toilet, it took us a few minutes to get in touch with someone who could take care of it. They were very responsive and while we went to dinner in town, they fixed it. There wasn’t a refrigerator in our room but it was cold enough that night to keep our Black Crust Pizza leftovers in the car. It looked like there was a common area for breakfast but we decided to go straight to the black sand beaches and lighthouse and had brunch at Faxi Bakery. ”

“This is a great little place to stay and not have to travel to see the northern lights. I stayed in one of the bungalows (the called it the chicken houses). Stay was comfortable, it is a small space so a bit crowded and the ceilings were short and sloped in so it made taking a shower a little challenging but still doable. The only turnoff for me was the sink was leaking from the drain pipe as well as one of the water lines going into the sink and the staff's response was to bring me towels. Luckily it wasn't a bad leak but you can tell the place suffers from bad plumbing issues with lots of water damage along the floor boards. ”
