“2 night stay at Fern Howe. Room was extremely comfortable with ensuite facility (amazing pressure on the shower) with a stunning view over the fell. Beautiful cakes baked by Emma left in the dining room each afternoon which is most welcome after building up an appetite walking the fells. Nice little touches such as mini fridge with freezer (big enough for freezer packs) and small bottles to take fresh milk up to your room. Cooked breakfast was spot on too. Will definitely be back and would readily recommend xx”

“Fern Howe is a very comfortable, clean & well positioned guest house with plenty of parking just 5 minutes walking from the centre of the village, The ‘in room’ breakfast provided was of the highest quality given that it was served on a tray due to Covid restrictions I would stay there again”

“Fern Howe is set on a hill with long views of the valley. Emma was a lovely host and tried hard to make our stay happy despite the covid restrictions. The house and room was spotlessly clean and absolutely in accordance with covid requirements with signs and gel and social distancing in place.The room was described as having a mountain view, which it had but it was through a small side view overlooking the car park. This was unfortunate as we wanted to enjoy the view as part of the time relaxing. Description should be changed accordingly. The breakfast was booked on a firm the night before and delivered on individual trays which was nice. However disappointed that the breakfast was a sandwich with the cooked bacon sausage and egg. Would have been nice to have the full english option on a plate (with cover) with a few more ingredients seeing they were being cooked anyway. Plenty of extras like yogurt and fruit tea and coffee. I think prices have gone up due to staycations recently throughout the Lakes and thought slightly over priced for what we got.”
