We were traveling to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary, so before our trip I contacted the hotel to ask if they could arrange something special for us. I was happy to pay extra, but I never heard back. When we arrived, I brought it up again at the front desk, but the receptionist didn't seem to be having a good day and wasn't very helpful.

Summary: The one thing I will caution future guests about is breakfast. It’s one menu selection (there is no menu to choose from) for everyone every morning. So if you’re a picky eater or have lots of food sensitivities, this could be a real hassle. It is served in your room only, and delivery runs a bit on island time. So if you have timed plans in the morning, make sure to give yourself an extra half hour buffer to account for possible breakfast delays.
Other than that, I had an absolutely fabulous stay. The fireplace in the room was my favorite feature. Bed and bedding were like sleeping on a cloud. Book a suite with river view if possible. The view is quite wonderful!
I saw the inn keeper every day. He’s very friendly, talks to everyone, and truly wants you to have a wonderful stay.
I highly recommend dinner at least once at the restaurant there. The food is exquisite! Keep in mind that lunch and snacks aren’t offered. Bring things from home, there’s a fridge and microwave in every room.
