Hotel Abrego | Hotel in Monterey, California

“Incredible value for a nice place and good walkable area of town with good restaurants around and a grocery store very close. The breakfast and evening happy hour were great - would happily stay again”

“A very nice hotel that is reasonably priced. Great location. Able to walk to most places and close to highway access”

“Overall, the property and room were clean and well maintained. Note, the breakfast was slow at refilling the Buffet and coffee; and the fitness room was minimal and could use some maintenance…like towels, disinfectant wipes to wipe down equipment, and the incline did not function on the treadmill.”

“We booked our room through Hotels.com. Sept 10thru 12th this was for our anniversary. When we checked in, I asked what floor we were on. The front desk clerk told me the first floor. The hotel only has 2 floors. We were assigned to room 4009. We had a difficult time finding the room, because there was no such room number on the first floor. I returned to the front desk, asking for assistance to find our room. The room was found, in the basement area- not the first floor! We had to go down about 12 steps, there was only 1 room in that area, next to a storage room. The room did not have a phone and did not have a luggage rack. Our luggage had to be put on the two chairs that were provided. I again went to the front desk to inquire about the 2 issues. The clerk seemed irritated with me, knowing we were clearly upset. Nothing was done to provide a phone or luggage rack. The clerk gave us a 15% discount which I have to reach out to hotels.com to receive. We’ve booked with the Abrego a few years ago, and had no issues. We were extremely disappointed and will not use the hotel again.”

“two things, one about hotel itself: US and Cal flags are in rags, literally look like shredded diapers hanging from a pole.”

“Nice place. Just make sure the breakfast place stays clean after people are done. It’s a very nice spot.”

“Very nice room that was spacious and very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The parking lot was very difficult to get out of parking spaces.”

“Breakfast was pretty tasty with breakfast burritos one day and biscuits and gravy the next. Had room card deactivated twice in two days but front desk reset. Do not expect early check in before 4;00pm…but it is no secret…as advertised. Overall great stay and we will return!”

“Super friendly staff, cheap deposit at check-in. Lots of shops and great location to walk around Monterey! My wife and I will be booking here again next time! Highly recommend”

“The staff was welcoming and helpful. Property and its amenities are well maintained.”
