“Loved it! The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food (both breakfast and dinner) were so delicious with a lot of options, the rooms are simple but we didnt need much - we went for a 5 day skiing trip and wanted an affordable place yet close to the Olympe gondola, leading right into Meribel. The hotel is about 7min walk to the gondola, therefore perfect! Brides Les Bain does not have a lot of going out/restaurant options, so some nights we stayed at Athena for dinner… great choice, cause we loved it! We are vegetarians, and the hotel accommodated so well to that. They even prepared an off-the-menu meal for us! Breakfast is excellent, hotel facilities are very clean, staff is extremely helpful and friendly… I highly recommend! ”

“Had a nice stay at the Hotel Athena. Nothing fancy but functional. Not very accessible to main mountain at Val Thorens but they have a gondola very close in town that takes you to Meribel, one of the mountains. From there, you can access the 3 Valleys.”

“The hotel is an excellent 3 star. Relatively basic but very clean and everyone extremely friendly. The small spa is wonderful after a day on the slopes. There's a bus that takes you up to the gondola and back every day which saved us having to hire lockers. We were half board and my only issue was there was no choice for dinner (although they were very accommodating toward my 7 year old daughter). Having said that the quality was excellent. ”

“The car park is quite small, with two areas, one under cover for 5 cars and one open air up a steep ramp for 4-5 cars. The hotel has very pleasant staff who speak good english. We checked in at midday (a bit early but they allowed it) and the room was a bit cool so we increased the temperature on the thermostat and when we returned later it was toasty warm. The bath is full size (1700mm) and there was plenty of hot water in the evening. Having a separate toilet was convenient in the family room. The children slept in a separate room within the suite which had bunk beds and they loved it. We had breakfast which had 3 different types of cereal, different bread and a toaster, a fridge of yogurts and plenty of fruit, the usual croissants and pain au chocolat, a coffee machine which also did hot chocolate, and egg boiler and fresh orange and apple juice. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we would definitely return.”

“I could not believe how helpful the staff were, even when I was trying to get my altimeter working, nothing to do with the hotels responsibilities.Not a single person from the reception staff to the cleaners were anything other than 100% welcoming.”

“Nice hotel near the centre of all activities. I was there late summer and it was getting quieter - but I bet it's lively in the ski season.”

“Lovely location right my the river my room looked out onto river. Good size room and friendly size. Beware if staying in summer my room had no air con or fan and river lovely but rather noisy. Also leaving door open doesn’t do much when warm not sure if all rooms are like this . So quite a hot room in summer. If you go for half board option dinner was good. All in all a lovely hotel but a fan would be a great addition to room I stayed in. ”
