We stayed in the cottage for 2 nights, while lovely except the piano was out of tune and with the price per night, I expected a cleaner place. My husband got bit twice by spiders which is not surprising because I saw spider webs downstairs mostly in the recessed light sockets and the plantation shutter top windows in the livingroom and the armoire at the front door had not been dusted on top for years. I killed a black spider in the downstairs bathroom wall. Otherwise, we had a lovely visit with a delicious breakfast and good AC because it was hot that week. The staff was attentive and respectful. The upstairs bedroom was lovely and very clean but downstairs was not as clean with all the spider webs. I missed having a drip coffee maker and a blender for my smoothies.
Breakfast was amazing the first day of my stay. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly and were served with bacon and a croissant. The buffet was filled with fresh fruit, yogurt, house made granola and coffee cake. The second breakfast was much different. Nothing on the buffet. I ordered scrambled eggs with a croissant to hear that there were not any croissants or even bread for toast. The fruit they brought was a tiny bowl with hardly any fruit and the scrambled eggs were not very good.
Wonderful balcony room (Heritage)! Property is gorgeous and very dog friendly. Delicious breakfast. Inn keepers and staff were very welcoming. Wine bar included! Wonderful quaint town with a few good restaurants, shops and markets! Book it now!
