Islander Resort | Hotel in Islamorada, Florida

“We had a pretty relaxing time, the location is beautiful and the events are fun. However I will not be back, the last day left a pretty sour taste in our mouth, checkout was not until 11am, we figured we could relax by the pool and then start leaving around 10am. When we were returning to our room (at 10am) house keeping had already removed all of our bedding and asked “did you forget something?” I thought it was odd, I said “uhm no, I’m just walking back to the room”. It felt like we were being rushed off, oddly enough we noticed we WERE missing something that we later had to ask them to look for. Additionally, there were things on the bed that were moved so they could clean up such as my child’s change of clothes for after the pool and his stuffed animal. This is entirely unacceptable, on checkout day the should at least wait until the parties have left to do any of that.”

“Beautiful location. The rooms were great and had good shade at night. Loved the patios and the activities.”

“The rooms were very calming and coastal! I did wish the bathroom was a bit larger, but the bed was super comfy and I enjoyed the outside seating with umbrella even in the August heat. Only had a drink at the bar but dining looked inviting. Lots of amenities at the resort. I did take a fantastic yoga class with Lexi! Thank you. And a big thank you to the staff. Everyone so accommodating.”

“The grounds at this resort are so beautiful! We always enjoy being here. The ice machine near our room wasn't functioning but the front desk had ice to our room in less than 10 minutes. The beaches were suffering with the sargassum but there is nothing the resort can do about that. Happy hours deals were good. Service at the pool was good. We enjoyed the spacious patio for our room. We also enjoyed the resort providing an astronomer at the pier for the meteor shower that night, What a special and unexpected touch!”

“Nice in general, but AC in our room was a bit dicey. (They came to our room 3 times in the night to check it with a ladder).The lady at the front desk said they would issue a refund for the AC problem we had and email me a receipt later that day, but that did not happen, and I had to chase it down. They did not clean up sargasso from beach on the weekend, so we did not really want to walk down to the water on the "beach" when we might have liked to. The employees were overall very nice and the resort is really pretty, and the girl singer in the am Sunday morning was terrific.”

“Second stay at the Islander. The room they gave me had a non working safe, a broken shelf in the fridge, and a phone that doesn’t call front desk, when I used my cell phone to call them instead of, they never picked up. The top lock to the front door didn’t work. There was sargassum deteriorating at the shoreline, they hadn’t made the effort to clean it , I took a look at several other properties in the area that were maintaining their shorelines much better. All guest ocean activities were unavailable to me in this trip, so I had to rent from an outside company (Robbie’s) which was amazing. I was very happy with my meals, the property is beautiful, but I think they could be doing more to ensure guest safety in rooms, and better maintenance overall. Upon checking out these items for mentioned in my express checkout option, and I’ve heard nothing back from them. I will be exploring other resorts in the area before I return to the islander.”

“The place is very quaint and the staff is very friendly. They were even able to help me with an hour later check out because my daughter was not feeling well. It’s a shame we could not use the beach because of the algae, but that has nothing to do with the resort. I would definitely stay here again!”
