Summary: A good place to rest your head on the way to Bent's Fort and the Sand Creek Massacre site. The place was clean. But the internet did not work. The excuse was the wind. Uh-huh. And the shower in the room was another shower for midgets. I'm six foot, two inches. Nearly every hotel I stay at has a shower in which I have to stoop over to get my head underwater. I'm done with this. From here on out, I am going to call out all these hotels with showers for midgets. Can't you afford another 12-inches of copper pipe? Penury is a character flaw, not a character attribute. Last but not least, La Junta is a pretty sad little town. I'm a native, and my parents were natives. And, I have never been to La Junta before. Boss Hogg's was a good family meal style restaurant. I recommend the patty melt with a trip to the salad bar. Otherwise, there was nothing to do but watch movies in the hotel room on cable. By the way, the hotel is connected to the Yak and Yeti restaurant chain in the Denver area. The restaurant affiliated with the hotel is called the Yak and Yeti. I was hoping beyond all hope to get some garlic naan bread and channa masala (hot) in this third world country called La Junta. Sadly, as the clerk at the hotel counter told me, the management ascertained that the local demographic will not support an Indian-Nepalese restaurant. No mint chutney for you, city boy. Thus, they have dumbed down the menu to the typical burgers and fries that the locals will eat. McFood.

Summary: My husband and I stayed at this motel last night. We found the hair dryer in the room did not work at 8:15 pm. We called the front desk Until 9:15. No answer. No assistance. No hair dryer. Went to an important event with unkempt hair which shouldn’t be the end of the world. But, no answer from the front desk starting at 8:15?!?!!!! Unacceptable!

Summary: The rooms were nicely remodeled and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub were under renovations but other than that it was a nice, quiet place to stay for the weekend. A good value for the price.
