Positive:
Great location, set back from the road, at Dale Head Hall. So it’s quiet but only 10 min walk to pub and bus stop, easy to walk into central and eastern fells from the door. Great views from the first floor apartment across the lakeside grounds and Thirlmere. Spacious, comfortable and functional apartment, new bathroom with good shower. Boot room available for drying wet gear. Good value.
Negative:
Creaky floors, fair enough it’s an old building. Porch at top of outside stairs is useful when coming out in wet weather but it needs replacing as wood is rotten. Outside stairs for access to first floor are a bit steep, so may not suit infirm.
Summary: Comfortable, quiet apartment with easy access to fells, pub Keswick and Grasmere.

Outside porch could be repaired better maintained but didn’t worry us.
Summary: Wonderful stay at the only property on Thirlmere lake. Just a ten minute drive from Grasmere. The grounds were well main

Positive:
The location, the bed was comfy. The view was great over the lake. The member of staff who greeted us was very friendly and helpful
Negative:
Was not clean, walls paper thin and very creaky floorboards. Shower was not powerful and was like a little trickle. All the windows were dirty and had to clean all the dishes before using them as they weren’t clean
Summary: Lovely location, friendly staff but disappointing shower and needed to be cleaner
