Mantra Amphora | Hotel in Palm Cove, Queensland

“I would give this 5 stars for location and proximity to the beach, restaurants and more but the few things that didn't work well for me were the lack of internet throughout the property so I had to work from the lobby which wasn't always open. I also felt like there was a lack overall. They have the opportunity to greet guests with coffee in the lobby but don't. The restaurant at the property isn't considered part of the hotel so when trying to order wine and go to my room, I couldn't because they were separate. I just felt like they were missing the mark. The gates getting around are a pain, no help with luggage, no internet, meh. I'd stay here again but no good wifi was a deal killer for me.”

“Palm Cove is a great location and the hotel was across a fairly quiet road from the main beach, near to a number of very good restaurants / cafes to suit all pockets. The hotel was very clean and the room a good size with good amenities. The furnishings were a little tired but this did not detract from the overall comfort of the space. Internet reception on Wi-Fi is very slow due to Palm Cove’s location. Overall I would recommend the hotel for a stay.”

“We love this resort and have visited before. For travelling in May, the downside is the pool water is a bit on the cold side as there's not quite enough heat to warm it up except in the shallow parts. The same with the spa, it's still lovely but not quite at the temp you'd most like on cloudy days. It's still a beautiful warm spot to lounge in the sun and relax under the palms though! Great location, beautiful resort.”

“We enjoyed our stay. This is our 6th trip to the area and first stay at mantra amphora. The hotel is in a great location and easy walking to everything. The day spa is lovely and Vivo restaurant is out front and it’s fantastic. I preferred it to Nu Nu to be honest. Our room was beautifully decorated and clean but on arrival the odour was so bad (think dog bones or a butcher shop) I had to go straight to Coles the next day, and buy a glade plug in and air freshener costing me $30 just to get rid of it. We looked everywhere, opened the doors, wiped the fridge, but couldn’t find the cause. This was the main downside. We had to constantly spray each day. Bed was comfy and spa bath in room was great after a long day. Pool area is busy. We didn’t get to try hot tub as it’s dominated continually by groups of guys drinking in it. Not great when you have little kids but we did swim in the pool. Overall it’s an ok hotel, very family orientated and we’d stay again but maybe look at Drift or Alamanda first as they are just a little bit nicer. Cairns is the most amazing place to visit and so much to do. Overall this hotel is a 3.5/5”
