“Owner was pleasant at check in and explained services. Place is dated, but clean and room was good sized. Had a king room with a separate area with a queen bed, sitting area and kitchette. Bathroom was clean and shower had good pressure.”

“We arrived late but were accommodated with a late check-in. The room was mostly nice, some small things that needed repair (water spout in the shower pulling out of the wall, water damage to the ceiling), but overall, the room was very clean and my son and I were very comfortable. The breakfast was good enough, adequate options to grab something to fill us up until lunch. The person at the desk was very nice and helpful, giving us some good recommendations for things to check out in the area. I only have 2 minor complaints. First, you can't turn the light off on your balcony, and even with the blackout curtains closed, the light out there illuminated the room enough to be annoying when trying to fall asleep. If the blackout curtains were against the wall and didn't have a very large gap, it would probably fix the issue. Second, there is a very heavy scent of incense in the lobby and hallways. It didn't seem to effect the room, but if it's a smell you're sensitive to or not a fan of, it's pretty strong. Otherwise, I think I'd stay here again if I was in the area.”

“This property was one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in! Super friendly staff. Breakfast was very nice. Convenient to Montpelier and beyond. Highly recommend.”

“The room was clean. We had a king suite, it was actually quite large. The hot water was incredibly HOT. I read about this in a previous review. Seriously. it’s dangerous especially for kids. I did talk to the clerk about this. The ice machine was still broke! Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast. The clerk at the desk was very nice. He did everything there! He signed you in, did the breakfast, did the landscaping, cleaned the rooms. I thought this was unusual. The hallway did have an unusual smell, incense maybe? Overall I would stay there again. It was quiet!”

“You get what you pay for, and this is an affordable option in Barre. I stayed in a “single room” and was surprised at how big it was, very spacious, two beds. The room was very clean. The bed was comfy enough, the A/C worked great on an unseasonably hot weekend. It’s very dated, and the property and furnishings look to be at least 30 years old. I stayed in the cheapest room type, though, and it sounds like the other types of rooms are a bit nicer. I stayed w a large group and saw some of them. The person at the front desk was very friendly, and understanding when I forgot to return my (physical, metal) key and had to send it back w someone else staying there on my checkout day. The breakfast is very simple, continental, but they do have a waffle maker for a hot option, and the coffee was good enough. It’s very close to the grocery store, super convenient. If I ever needed to go back to Barre, I wouldn’t mind staying here again.”

“The staff was great. The air conditioner worked, but needed staff to turn it on by mashing the power button repeatedly. The breakfast was pretty scarce, terrible coffee and some little pastries.”

“Too much air freshener! Had to unplug it and hide it in a cabinet. Still the room was soooooo over freshened! Light on the balcony, way too bright. Needs some updating! Maybe more than some. AC worked great. Room was clean bed was ok, need more/better pillows. Happy to only needed it one night. Front desk was helpful and pleasant. We did not make use of their breakfast.”

“Clean rooms, nice and quiet. One important note is that Hotels.com list a Pool as an ammenity here, and there is no pool.”

“This is a budget hotel, but it served its purpose. The room was a little outdated, but sufficient. The staff was very helpful, even when I needed to check in late at night, and the continental breakfast was nice.”
