Ocean Gate Inn  |  Hotel in Isle of Springs

Our room was clean, but since it was overlooking the water, had a rather musty smell when we first arrived. We were able to air it out. I notified staff and they informed us that the building we were in is next on the rehab list, hopefully removing that musty smell when first arriving. The balcony view was first rate. Breakfast was great! Only drawback: carrying suitcases up the stairs!

Before booking this property, I did see a handful of bad reviews. This is because the previous owners obviously did not do enough upkeep on the property. The reviews mentioned new owners and to give them another chance, so we decided to give it a try! We are so happy that we did. These new owners are making a lot of positive changes, renovations and cleaned up the resort and it really shows. Our room was clean, nothing like any of the comments that were left. No spiderwebs or cobwebs in our room and we thought it had been renovated, but we were told it had not been (yet) just new carpet installed. We will definitely return, this place can only get better, I believe in a few years this will be a phenomenal resort. And so close to Boothbay Harbor, our view was fantastic. We did have an oceanfront room and so very happy that we chose this room with a private deck. The fire pits on the lawn and picnic tables were wonderful to have and a dock where you can use canoes and kayaks. The staff is very friendly as well. If you’re on the fence, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Prime location on the water. Close to Boothbay and Coastal gardens. Amenities include kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, swimming pool, private fishing, pond, tennis courts, and hot breakfast. Rooms are newly refurbished. We really enjoyed our stay here and recommend it highly.

So nice ✅ I would definitely come back. The staff was great and very accommodating. The kids loved it and it’s always safe next time I come I’m gonna bring a fishing rod and a bike.

This is an amazing escape from a busy travel area! Great activities for a family.

Ocean Gate was a wonderful experience. The attention to details from the smores kits at the firepits to the beautiful flowers everywhere was obvious. The staff was beyond nice and so helpful. We will definitely be back!

Gorgeous water views; can have either a sunset view or sunrise view, both over water, depending on what room you stay in. We were only supposed to stay one night, but decided after being here only 10 minutes, that we’d extend our stay a second night, as it was so beautiful here! Grateful AC was in the rooms and will be back again. Only hiccup was we had to change rooms to stsy the second night, and were given the run-around all day as to when our new room would be ready…VERY frustrating, as we were tired from 2 days of travelling a very long distance. Grounds were lovely (flowers strategically planted), and tons of fun activities, including a HEATED pool! Mini-golf, paddle boards, kayaking, huge outdoor chess, inside checkers, all included in the room fee! The only thing l didnt like was having to leave my drivers license in order to borrow their mini-golf clubs. However, we will definirely be back!

Great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good! Very clean and nice size room.
