Osai's Guest House Reviews
Reviewer Type: Solo Traveller
Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Good value. Spotlessly clean in every room. Comfortable beds. Spacious rooms, lounge, kitchen and shower. Had all the necessities. Very green area on edge of Nuku’alofa. Was great being in a peaceful Tongan neighbourhood on the edge of town. Fantastic recommendations and remote support from property manager. Booked one room but had the whole place to myself which was super relaxing and a wonderful bonus.
Negative: Curtains in room could be a bit heavier as room got significant direct light from neighbours at night. Roosters and dogs from next door and the neighbourhood were quite excitable at random times of day and night (common all over Nuku’alofa). A fan (or air con) would’ve been nice in the heat and would create white noise to lessen rooster/dog sounds, too : )
Summary: Very clean, green, comfortable and spacious

Positive: The owners couldn't have been nicer. They set me up with a tour and airportshuttles. The location was great. Far enough from town to be quiet, but an easy walk to town and some grocery stores. Also a full kitchen.
Negative: No a/c and it was summer there. The fan was adequate except for about 3 hours during the hottest part of the day.

Positive:
The house is beautiful, spacious, clean, fully equipped, seems newly renovated; situated in a safe and peaceful local community with private yard and parking, good for experiencing the real local life by walking or riding on a bike, which can be rented from the owner. It’s inevitable the noises of roosters and dogs during the night and early morning, but it’s normal in rural area and not a problem for me at all.
Negative:
The contact with the owner might not be that instant and synchronized, but with some time in advance, any problem could be solved.
Summary: Recommended for independent travelers
