Sand Bar Cottage Inn | Bed & Breakfast in Bar Harbor

Wonderful stay here! The place is beautiful and in a perfect location very close to everything in town. Chris, the innkeeper, is a gem of a person with great local recommendations. The breakfast is also amazing and the hotel had lots of little touches, like snacks and desserts in the afternoon, to make it that much more inviting. Highly recommend!!

This is a beautifully decorated and comfortable BnB in a historic manor house. Walkable location on the edge of town center, near harbor and 3 blocks from Village Green and Acadia shuttle base . The owner and staff are welcoming and very helpful while the breakfast choices were always delicious. Afternoon live music in garden was a relaxing touch. Our room was spacious and bed comfortable. Well worth price!

We had an amazing two-night stay in the Down East King Room at Sand Bar Cottage while celebrating our anniversary. We were welcomed with sparkling wine and chocolate-covered strawberries, which was such a thoughtful touch. Chris, the owner, made a point to welcome us personally, and every staff member we met was incredibly friendly and hospitable. Breakfast both mornings was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The location couldn't have been better. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to do in Bar Harbor, including crossing the sandbar to the island at low tide. We also loved relaxing by the fire pits in the evenings while enjoying the live music. If you're visiting Bar Harbor or exploring Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain, I highly recommend staying at Sand Bar Cottage. It was the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, and we can't wait to return!

Clean room with friendly staff and great breakfast. Hotel is very convenient to walk to shops and restaurants. Comfortable room and bed.

I vacationed in Bar Harbor with my husband and grown daughter. The Inn exceeded all my expectations. The house is lovely, comfortable and in a perfect location. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. We had breakfast on the porch each morning and treats at tea time each day, I’ve really missed that since returning home. The breakfast was THE BEST! We were on the go a lot but did get to enjoy the music in the garden one evening. I had a wonderful time and hope to return someday.

Lovely main inn building with beautiful furnishings and a wonderful breakfast, coffee, tea and beverages and treats. We stayed in the "Cottage" out back and our room was spacious and comfortable. Fireplace, sitting area with tv...It was a quiet and peaceful space. Large hot tub in our room was very nice.

Chris and the staff were excellent: professional yet friendly and very helpful. Breakfast: delicious, made to order, generous portion. Snacks, tea and coffee: they are very generous with food all day. Room: we chose room 7. It might be smaller than other rooms in the house, but we love the quirkiness of the room. Typical NE room, small space, but full of cool nooks and cranies. Full of amenities in the room and bathroom. Love the sitting. Walking distance: a 5-7 walk to the water, park, and restaurants. There's a nice path along the water, great stroll. Great view of the different islands.

Our (my husband and I) stay at the Sand Bar Cottage Inn was truly awesome. The property itself was so charming. Our room was in a separate building and was spacious and comfortable. It was very quiet. Our daily breakfasts were so delicious -- one option was savory - like a sausage frittata and the other sweet - like banana foster pancakes. Truly, the breakfast was a highlight of our day. The location could not have been better. Just a quick walk to main street and the harbor. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when our plans bring us back to Bar Harbor.

Breakfast was awesome. Best we've had at any hotel/bnb. Great accommodations... Great staff....the Inn Mngr (Chris) was great. Very helpful and informative with the area.
