The Augustin | Hotel in Quartier Midi-Lemonnier - Zuid-Lemonnierwijk, Brussels-Capital Region

“For the price, this hotel was very disappointing. The advertises a top-rated breakfast, but in our experience it wasn’t even worth €5. The scrambled eggs were contaminated with pork juices because the same serving spoon was used for both the eggs and the bacon. In a country like Belgium, where halal options are widely available, I expected better attention to avoiding cross-contamination. The amenities were poor. There was no YouTube or Netflix on the TV, and when I mentioned it at reception, the staff member simply shrugged and said he couldn’t leave the desk to help. The air conditioning only worked at certain times, which was very odd. We stayed as a family of three with a toddler. Despite requesting extra towels on the first day, we kept having to ask. We had also booked a twin room with a sofa bed, but were moved at the last minute to a room with only one double bed, so all three of us had to share. The balcony was filthy and had loose, dangling cables, making it unsafe to use. Overall, the hotel was overpriced and poor value for money. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially for families with young children.”

“Nice breakfast, excellent mattress and pillows, clean very functional room, nice bathroom toiletries. Would’ve been a 5 star review but we weren’t informed the gym was still under construction and it was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. The staff were helpful though and retrieved the free weights for us which meant we could work out. When the work is complete it will really be an excellent place to stay.”

“It is a decent hotel. Curently it is under renovation. For travelers with baby/stroller, there are roughly 6-7 stairs you need to take care, other than that, It was OK.”

“Nice sized room. Convenient location. Close enough to walk to everything but far enough to not hear the noise from the busy streets.”

“The hotel was undergoing some renovation and there were traces of plaster dust on the stairs and corners. More significantly, the stair well, which is also the emergency exit from my part of the hotel, was blocked with buckets, wires and tools. Hopefully they dealt with this immediately and all else will be good when the renovation is done. I found my shower difficult to set at a good temperature and it was spraying water sideways (leaky). If using the angled showerhead, (be careful not to turn past a certain point or you might be doused with cold water from the overhead shower.) Also the floor became wet (not sure how) and became incredibly slippy as a result. My head was heading towards the basin but I managed to get my arm up just in time. The outlook from my room at the back was not great but appreciate this can't be altered. On the up side, the staff dealt with my points very cordially, the room was comfortable and I was given a free breakfast to compensate from my slight dissatisfaction.”
