“Checking in, we felt we were something of a nuisance the girl on reception didn't have time for.
'Fill this in-come upstairs-this is your room'
Gone. We had been walking, so perhaps we looked like Riffraff.
Faint smell of sewage but that was because the shower plug was bunged up but whiff did disappear after one use.
Was very busy for food and its probably very good but we hadn't booked so went a few minutes down the road to another pub, which had a much warmer welcome.

“If you like a 400-year-old English Country Pub this site is for you as it was for us. We loved the quaint atmosphere and the cheerful staff. Food was traditional fare and well presented. Parking was close to accommodation.”

“Nice pub, decent food and very good breakfast. Rooms are basic and overpriced for the standard of facility. Room was tiny and cheaply furnished. Bed was uncomfortable, bedding not hotel standard”

“We had a lovely stay at the Fox room and food were great and as we had been to Goodwood, not far to go either. Staff were great and the Pub & garden were very cosy with great garden views.
But !!! Although breakfast was included for the two of us who stayed and we paid for two extra guests to join us….
We did not expect to pay for Teas & coffees as extra at £3.50 per cup (even for the two of us where breakfast was included) is my only complaint ”

“Food at breakfast and evening meal was very good.
We stayed in room number 1 which was at the top of eight, steep and narrow stairs, which was far too close to a hot, food smelling ( it was a kitchen after all!)
noisy kitchen. A good and bad experience.
