“Very nice pub with lovely bartender/hostess would give it 5 stars”

“We stayed for 2 nights for our anniversary and upon arrival we were shown to our room which was immaculate and looked fairly newly furnished. The first night we ate in the restaurant and couldnt fault the food really, it was all lovely and the portions were ample. On the second night we tried to sleep from 11ish, our room was directly above the pub which wasnt an issue until it closed and then staff were cleaning but banging doors, dragging chairs across the floor instead of lifting and carrying them. It made so much noise and really spoilt our nights sleep. A few other bits in the room, the carpet on the stairs upto the bathroom was coming away from the gripper rods and we did catch ourselves on the grippers a few times, the same on the staircase just outside our room (it could seriously cause an accident if someone was to fall on the stairs). Another issue was the gap at the bottom of the door, it let in so much light into the room (I did turn the light off on the staircase but another occupant left it on), in the end I put a towel to block the light from illuminating the room. It was disappointing as first impressions looked lovely but a few bits like this really let it down.”

“Cosy feeling pub. Fantastic food. Nicely furnished cosy rooms but limited plugs for phone charging etc. We were in the room at the front above the pub, quite noisy from the pub below at night could make it difficult for some to sleep. Staff were welcoming and helpful.”

“The hotel was easy to find and luckily we bagged the last parking spot so no issues there. Once checked in and paid we were shown to our room and the room and building keys explained to us. The room itself was clean and tidy and enough space for us staying for one night. A wardrobe and desk area came in handy for getting ready. The bedroom floor was a little uneven which is to be expected in an old building, but could be a hazard for someone with mobility issues. The bathroom was clean and tidy although the toilet seat was smaller than the toilet so made for a bit of a precarious experience when using the facilities. The WiFi was not explained nor was there anything in the room with the code so we had to go back downstairs to ask for that. Otherwise a pleasant experience all round. Checkout was simple the next morning, just back down to the bar area and someone was waiting to take the keys from us. ”

“Great location and rooms been done out lovely - there was slight confusion around breakfast as when we went down they said we hadn't got it included but then on showing the booking details from Expedia where it said that breakfast was included - apart from that, great spot and had some lovely food as well ”
