The Tompkinsville Inn  |  Hotel in Tompkinsville

I accidentally booked this room thinking it was a different hotel. I read the reviews and there were complaints of bed bugs etc. I checked and there were no bed bugs and we didn't see any other critters. The property is below average in maintenance and upkeep. As far as a bed, toilet, tv, that was about it. We book for about $97/night and after staying there this was about a $49/night property. The pool was locked the whole time. I never saw one cart for housekeeping. I truly wondered if the beds were just straightened up in between guests and only washed of they looked dirty. Very basic. Needs maintenance. Nothing impressive.

This is an old property and the folks are doing their best with what is there. Dirt in corners in the bathroom may date back to the 60s but the bed was very clean and comfortable, nice TV, everything I needed.

The shower head had GREAT water pressure and the fridge kept our leftover food cold. Those are the highlights. The room smelled fine… until you got near the bathroom and then it smelled like a urinal. The sink was dirty. Everything about the room was simply run down. Old exposed wall anchors from where the TV used to be. Peeling (or partially peeled off) 35 year old wallpaper in the toilet/shower area. For as strong as the water pressure was in the shower, I’m surprised the toilet could flush the water in the bowl (really weak flush). The sink countertop front facade was dangling. There is an exposed gap at the bottom corner of the door to the outside. The gutters outside of the room were ineffective. The lighting was terrible throughout. The beds were two different heights and of differing firmnesses. The pillows were as soft as folded up sheets stuffed in a pillow case. “Continental breakfast” was practically non existent (there were two cereal dispensers with no bowls, spoons, or milk; there was a toaster with no bread or pastries; coffee wasn’t even attempted in the coffee pots). We asked for water and ice to fill our refillable water bottles as we checked out and all he could offer was a room temperature Coke. This was the worst place I’ve stayed. Period. I don’t have super high standards and I know the area doesn’t have a lot, but I would have preferred to sleep in my car. If the price was half of what we paid, it would have been too much. Terrible value.

The property is old and not well kept. The room was shabby and not as clean as desired. Parking was fine right in front of the room. Didn't even try the breakfast.

Will not stay there again, front desk had a man that didn't speak English, room smelled like people hhad smoked in it, tv remote 😳 was there turned it on and it had not signal, there is more but the thing that topped it off was at 3 o'clock in the morning the smoke alarm started beeping and it was out of reached i was out of there by 3:30 and on the road

Check in was good, bathroom not real clean, and not really any breakfast to speak of, cereal and some stale crackers and muffins. Bed was comfortable. It was okay, only thing in the area.
