“We have stayed at this hotel a number of times when it was the Radisson, but this was our first stay since it was part of the Van Det Valk group. Whilst it has been good to see money has been spent refurbishing the communal areas and also we could see evidence that bathrooms within the rooms are also being worked on. One thing that has been ruined for us is the way in which the restaurant and bar have been merged especially as the terrace is now enclosed by a glass wall that doesn’t seem to be opened. With the bar and restaurant merged you don’t feel like you can comfortable socialise in the bar now and the loss of the terrace is a real shame. Whilst the staff were helpful at check in, I have to say the staff aren’t as friendly as the previous team there. With the Bains now open in Spa the Van Der Valk needs to up its game .”

“The staff was phenomenal. When our room wasn’t ready (we were early) the staff allowed us to drink our own wine in their lobby while we waited. They even opened it for us and brought us glasses. The hotel is luxury mixed with a phenomenal location. Their hotel parking is very reasonable and the access to the spa is very accommodating to those staying in their hotel.”

“This is the second time we have stayed at the Van Der Valk in Spa having previously stayed in a sister hotel in Liege. The staff are welcoming and professional, the hotel is very clean with all amenities provided. The restaurant and bar area are very much the centre of the hotels focal point, looking out onto the main square in Spa and opposite the famous casino. On both occasions other than a slight issue when checking out this time whereby an internal issue was saying that we hadn’t pre-paid for our room when we had we have never had an issue and will look to return next year. Car parking is free if you are fortunate enough to get a spot in front of the hotel or €20 per night in the secure underground car park directly below the hotel from where you can take the lift straight up to your floor. The restaurant staff are excellent and the he food choice and quality is exceptional with a choice for everyone and for a hotel is priced very reasonably, the same applies to the drinks with the large car area being the focal point in the restaurant area. The breakfast is a buffet in the same restaurant, great choice of fresh fruit, croissant’s etc in addition to cooked foods such as bacon and sausage. Our standard room was clean, large and had a great view of the square, the bathroom is also large and clean. Thoroughly recommended! ”
