Summary: We had a great stay! The staff were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. We absolutely needed a room with a shower rather than a bathtub, and they kindly gave us an accessible room at no extra charge. We really appreciated their understanding and flexibility. We would definitely stay here again!

Summary: The hotel needs a good update!!
In addition, the room is missing several basic amenities that we would reasonably expect from a hotel of this standard, including a TV, telephone, refrigerator, shower cap, soap, tissues, and cotton swabs. There is also no proper shower, and I could not find a safe where we could securely leave our passports. We did not feel comfortable carrying our passports with us whenever we left the hotel.
This has been particularly disappointing because we chose to stay at Fretheim Hotel during a very special anniversary trip. We were expecting a comfortable and pleasant experience, but instead we have had to deal with a room that did not meet our expectations and an unpleasant odor upon arrival.
The breakfast was good but not great!
No espresso, cappuccino or hot chocolate.
Just coffee from the machine.
The location was the best part of the our trip!

Summary: Hotel is well used. Reminded me of a college dorm room. Not terrible but not 4 or 5 star. Well situated but, the entire Flam experience is much like a cruise line created destination for cruise ships - if i'd known I'd have skipped it entirely.

Summary: Disappointing - room - Junior suite - so not cheap - on the ground floor looked into the car park and cruise ship blocking the view of the fjord. Quite public as people walked past.
Old hotel with noisy plumbing - again - ground floor seemed to hear every time a tap was used above - not the restful evening we had planned.
